The 9th Of January 2015 was one of my many January weddings in Kilkenny, of course, not forgetting my own county as well of Tipperary. It was a cold day for sure, but for Maria & Adrian it was their wedding day in Kilkenny at the SET theatre in Langtons hotel. As normal, my day started with a call to Maria and the girls at her home on the Kells Road – just a short drive from Kilkenny city – to capture some of the excitement of the morning. With hair being done and make-up being applied, it was all hands on deck. Once I had captured lots of fun footage, I moved on to Langton’s Hotel to get the lads arriving, along with all the guests, and to capture the little details in the fantastic Set Theatre where the ceremony was taking place. The Set Theatre is a popular venue with not only Kilkenny brides, but couples from all over Tipperary, Kilkenny, and Carlow.
A little bit about the SET Theatre before we move on: Constructed in 2009, it is a state-of-the-art venue which can hold 252 people seated and 380 standing/seated. A multi-purpose room which can cater for music acts, comedy, film and conferencing and of course weddings. The visually stunning interiors along with tasteful furnishings speak volumes about how greatly expanded the Langton brand has become over the years. Designed by the David Collins Studio in London, this is their flagship theatre and have pulled out all the stops to make it the most beautiful and talked about venue in the country.
After the ceremony, we went into Bridie’s Bar & General Store, again, part of Langtons Hotel, where we got some fantastic video footage and photographs in the old shop. Maria and Adrian were a really fun couple on the day, along with their bridal party. After the fun and photographs, they hosted a fantastic meal for the large number of guests. It’s great in this weather to be lucky enough to get so many local weddings in Tipperary and Kilkenny., and, of course, Sean in Langton’s is a great asset to the hotel. He’s also helpful to me while filming. There with odd nod when something is about to start, or with the lights so thanks to Sean for that! Also, it’s great to be on their list as a supplier of wedding videographers in and around the Kilkenny and Carlow areas. So, the very best of luck to Maria and Adrian, and many thanks to them for choosing Abbey Video Productions as their wedding videographer for their special day.
Of course, Langton’s is not the only hotel I visit on my video projects. I work all over Kilkenny in all the other hotels and I can say I would not have a bad word to say about any of them. All true professionals along the way. My next call is to the New Park hotel in two weeks time, so I’m looking forward to that as well. It is the wedding of a lovely couple — a mix of Tipperary and Kilkenny, so it should be great fun! Now, have a look at my face book to keep track of my travels and, of course, some great wedding video package prices , They are the best prices you will find in Tipperary and Kilkenny. Just give me a call and see for yourself … Now, back to some editing and more coffee. ~ Joe
